What do I need to do when my new barbecue fireplace is delivered?
How do I adjust the doors on my grill fireplace?
If the sliding door system (which is already adjusted when delivered) should ever be difficult to move, it is possible to adjust the doors as follows: Each door is equipped with four brass rollers; these are each attached to the door with two screws. To adjust your door perfectly, slightly loosen the upper screws and ensure that there is a small gap between the roller and the running rail again (make absolutely sure that the upper rollers are guided further away from the running rail and that the door does not fall out). Then simply tighten the screws again and let the door slide on the running rail a few times to check that it moves freely.
How do I have to ignite my grill chimney?
To get a good fire with little smoke and flying sparks, it is best to use dry beech or birch wood that has been stored for at least two years. Softwoods contain a lot of resin, which can splash and smoke when burned.
How do I season the wok?
Our wok is made of steel and not stainless steel, so it is the only part that has to be stored dry and must not be left in the barbecue chimney, as it would rust. Steel is a much better heat conductor than stainless steel, which is why the heat is distributed better and a better frying result is achieved. Only the handles are made of stainless steel so that they cool down faster. Professional chefs say: ‘Once the pan is seasoned, the food will slide.’ This means that nothing will stick to the surface. The darker the surface becomes, the better.
After another clean, your wok is now ready for use. Now you can prepare whatever you like, always adding a little cooking oil. It is best to distribute it well with kitchen paper so that no pools of oil remain. Whether you are cooking mushrooms, meat, scampi with garlic, seafood or vegetables – anything is possible now. Let your imagination run free!
What do I need to bear in mind when choosing a pizza stone for my fireplace grill?
The unique thermal properties of this high-quality product, made in Germany, offer you a wide range of possibilities. This stone can be used almost anywhere. It doesn't matter how you heat the stone. It is suitable for wood fires, charcoal fires, electric grills or even kitchen stoves.
The hot stone is ideal for vegetarian barbecuing. Side dishes such as onion rings, peppers, mushrooms, etc. are also no problem, as they cannot fall through the grate as they would otherwise. Any type of meat will be juicy and tender on the stone. The stone is particularly suitable for lean meat, fillet, meat à la minute, fish, etc.
Simply place the stone in the holder provided and swing it directly over the open flame of the fire. Unlike fireclay stones, cordierite stones do not need to be afraid of cracking. You can even place it directly into the embers of your barbecue without worrying about cracks.
Note: Small hairline cracks in the glaze do not affect the durability or function of the stone and are completely normal.
Cordierite consists primarily of quartz, aluminium, magnesium and iron and is therefore completely harmless to health.
Please make sure that the heat can be distributed evenly throughout the stone. Extreme temperature differences (very cold at the edge, very hot in the centre) can also cause this stone to crack. Avoid applying heat to a small area, for example with a Bunsen burner (gas burner).
Heating the stone directly on the stove or ceramic hob also causes uneven heating and can damage the stone. Always try to distribute the heat more or less evenly over the surface by placing a metal sheet between the burner and the stone.
Care instructions: Normally, it is sufficient to wipe the stone on the baking surface with a damp cloth. However, do not use aggressive cleaning agents, scouring powder or steel wool. Never clean the stone in the dishwasher. The unglazed underside of the stone must not come into contact with water, so that the stone does not become saturated. Stubborn encrustations, for example after barbecuing, can easily be removed with oven cleaner.
Safety note: Always wear protective gloves when using the stone with the holder in the barbecue fireplace, as the handles can get very hot. The holder is dishwasher-safe.
How do I properly maintain my stainless steel barbecue fireplace?
General care: It is essential to rinse the glass with clean, preferably lukewarm water, at regular intervals and to wipe it with a soft cloth. However, as a general rule, do not use
aggressive cleaning agents. The milder the cleaning agent, the better. The cleaning agent must be free of hydrochloric acid and chlorine-based agents! Sticky food residue can best be
removed with an aqueous cleaner, while grease and oil can be easily removed with a household detergent and a soft cloth. It is always important to remember that care and cleaning should
only be carried out when the fireplace is cold! All cleaning agent residue must be carefully removed before the next use, otherwise it will burn in.
Mechanical cleaning: Stainless steel surfaces can be easily washed, brushed or wiped with a damp cloth. However, please make sure you choose the right mechanical cleaning agent:
microfibre cloths are recommended. Allow the stainless steel care product to work in briefly and then wipe the surface with the cloth in the direction of the polish.
Finger and handle marks: All stainless steel surfaces that are often touched should be regularly cleaned, disinfected and then treated with a stainless steel care product. To be on the
safe side, test your preferred cleaning agent on an invisible area (e.g. the inside) before using it for the first time. The following applies to all stainless steel products: dusty parts are
cleaned with water – never rub dry!
How durable are DIMARO® stainless steel products?
How durable are DIMARO stainless steel products?
Thanks to the high V2A standard of the stainless steel we use, our products are permanently weather resistant and extremely durable. Steam, humidity and acids don't stand
a chance. Any rust that forms can be easily removed with a stainless steel cleaner. Stainless steel cleaner or polish is also excellent for preventing new deposits. Simply use it once or
twice a year.
Can I leave my barbecue fireplace or garden furniture outside all year round?
The simple answer is yes! Barbecue chimneys and garden furniture are weatherproof. To minimise damage, we recommend using our covering hoods and tarpaulins. The FSC-certified and thermally treated ash wood that we use is also largely resistant to insect infestation and mould with adequate ventilation – without any chemicals! If you want the grey patina that is typical of untreated wood, you don't have to do anything. If you would rather achieve a warm, reddish-brown colouring with a dark grain, then oil the wood two to three times a year.
